Holiday Gifting Guide 2020
Welcome to my 2020 Holiday Gifting Guide! I am so excited that I was able to work on this (took forever and a day) for you all! This is a highly curated guide for the upcoming holidays where you will find luxury/affordable luxury gifts for your loved ones and inspiration for your own wish list. Gifting has always been important to me- I love selecting specific items personal to the person I am shopping for. I wanted to ensure that this guide featured quality, investment pieces as well as a highlight on my favorite small businesses, while also incorporating items that I have gifted before, hope to gift in the future and gifts that I have adored receiving. Simply click on the image of the gift, and you will be redirected to the website of the gift.
My wishlist:
So, you want to know what’s on my list?? All year, I edit a working list in my notes of things I need or want for myself so when the holidays come around I am prepared with some inspo for anyone asking for my list (my bday is also December 4, so I try to have some options for my fam + boyfriend when they ask me for hints or ideas). I am so lucky to have people in my life that want to buy me beautiful investment pieces, but I want to remind you that this list is merely inspiration. I will not receive all of these treasures, but maybe one/some of them! I also keep this list for myself to have the opportunity to save up for things I really want. I hope you enjoy my personal list for this year!
Please note that the Uggs are sold out in the Antelope color at this time.
For your GUY (Bf, dad, brother, best friend)
Ahhhh. What to buy for your guy: a tale as old as time. Why are men so hard to buy for sometimes!? I’ll never know, but I have mastered coming up with gifts they have no clue that they even wanted/needed. I hope you enjoy this selection of men’s gifts for any guy in your life.
You can also find my go-to guy brands on my blog post: Go-to brands for the guys.
For your GALS (GF, mom, sister best friend)
While men are difficult, it’s a toss up who is more difficult to choose a gift for- since women may be just as hard to shop for. It can get overwhelming to gift someone that has EVERYTHING (ie: most gals in your life) or someone you are worried about liking your gift (someone who might be a tad picky). Feel free to refer to my own wishlist (1st guide - scroll up) for the women in your life. Here, I have selected another range of great gifts for any gal in your life and they are bound to love something on this list!
Please go ahead and use code “Gabri” at Eight Five One for 20% off of your purchase through Christmas! My favorite dainty jewels you always see me post in.
For The home (host gift, home gifts for any recipient, home musts for your own home)
Perhaps some of my most prized gifts that I have ever received are on this list. I am a sucker for home goods, so I made sure to include all of the musts when gifting for someone’s home or your very own this season.
Skin/beauty
While I’m no expert, I stand by the products that have never failed me. Below is a round up of some of my all time favorite skin care. I love gifting skin care because it is a reminder for your recipient to indulge in self-care when maybe they least expected it.
Please use code “Gabs20” at KORRES for 20% off of your purchase, always.
Small businesses I would like to feature for you to look into for holiday gifting (websites linked in the name):
Turkey Chicago - Chicagoans, please check out my aunt’s shop in Beverly for an array of perfect and thoughtful gifts during this holiday season. You can follow the shop at @turkeychicago to stay up to speed with their gifting options and merchandise for the holidays. I definitely recommend gifting some palo santo in your stockings this year!
Gum Tree LA - Gum Tree features fabulous gifts including amazing home goods. There are options for everyone on your list. You can visit one of the two shops in the South Bay of LA (Manhattan + Hermosa) or shop directly online. I have linked their curated gift boxes!
Beehive MB - I always stop in Beehive when I need a gift for one of my gals. They have an amazing (and a very impressive) selection of jewels and the season’s trendiest pieces. Stop in their shop or conveniently shop on their online store at the link I provided here.
Burro Goods - Burro is another go-to for my gifting needs. One year, I challenged myself to get every gift for my family from here and it was one of the most memorable gifting experiences of my career. They also have some of my all-time favorite ornaments, which are such a special gift, especially if you collect them. Visit their Abbot Kinney shop or shop online.
Unique gifting options/ experiences:
An Airbnb stay - Have you been wanting to have a getaway during this isolating time? Look into a “staycation” in your own city or a closeby destination for the weekend. There is nothing better than a quick (driveable) trip to look forward to and reset.
Heyday Facial (LA + NYC) - A go-to spot for facials. They use all natural products as well! Click link for more info.
A piece of artwork - I always try to find something personal that is close to my heart so it will always remind me of something special while on display. I have most recently purchased this artwork by a Chicago local, Ryan Duggan. This pizza joint is one of my family’s favorite spots on the South Side, so this will remind me of home for sure.
A cooking class - You can’t go wrong with an in-person or virtual (covid-friendly) cooking class to bring some fun into your home. One of my favorite birthday gifts was a pasta cooking class that my boyfriend arranged for us last year.
Vintage - Home goods or fashion, sometimes this is a great option for someone that has everything and appreciate an antique find.
Holiday Decor + Wrapping Inspo
Here are some things that might find their way into my home this holiday season:
Decor:
If I had a mantle or staircase, I would definitely have fresh garland throughout the home and let that be the main decor piece. I think that fresh garland alone is so minimal but beautiful for the decor during the holidays.
Christmas candles, but not too strong. I love P.F. Candle Co’s Smoky Cinnamon Special as it blends well with my normal selection of candles (I have almost all of them linked throughout this guide!).
Below you will have access to scroll through my Holiday Pinterest board! I will continue to update inspiration for you all.
I hope you all enjoyed this guide! Please stay tuned for any updates on this guide as I will announce any additions on my Instagram stories.
